Beats, Rhymes and Life received their matching grant!
Through the efforts of many, including many of you, Kerri Gawryn's film about the rap therapy program, Beats, Rhymes and Life has received the $10,000 matching grant from the East Bay Community Foundation. Thanks so much to all I Like The Parkway contributors to help make this happen.
We are continuing to raise funds to reach our original goal to help the film towards it's completion. Money raised will be going to this important film project that's homegrown in Oakland.
Our goal is to raise $5,000. We hope that you'll join us in making it your goal, too.
Coming together to support this film sends a clear signal that the spirit of the Parkway is alive and well. It promotes a positive, creative, and innovative approach to addressing a clear need in the community where the theater resides. It uses our voice to give the youth of this film a voice, and that is something in which we are proud to take part.
We hope you'll take a moment to join in our effort.
And, as always, we won't give up if you don't.
